With a view to achieving the above objectives, WEF is engaged in several projects/activities to create sustainable livelihood, alleviate poverty & reduce inequalities. It also organizes specific training programmes, events, workshops, conferences and seminars round the year to sensitize Corporations and Communities to improve the quality of environment. One of the means that WEF has adopted in developing all sections of society to enrich their knowledge about environment and development is to organise national and international conferences and workshops focusing on the contemporary issues relating to environment. Continuing this tradition for over 6 years of its existence, WEF has been the organiser and host of six such World Congresses starting from 1999 through 2001, 2002, 2003, 2004 and 2006. These conferences had been supported by several governmental, non-governmental organizations, industries, small and medium size enterprises etc. and were attended by large number of people from diverse fields and activities from different parts of the world.

WEF publishes several books, pamphlets, brochures, etc. for creating environmental awareness throughout the country and abroad. Following are WEF's major publications:-

If Indian corporations are to leverage human capital for competitiveness, much depends on their ability to nurture knowledge and entrepreneurship in tandem. Awards are a most potent way to motivate and mobiles intellectual assets and spurt them to achieve great heights in business performance. Therefore, in furtherance of its aims and objectives, WEF in 1998 instituted the following two awards:
